“On August 25, Toyota Roof Garden (a subsidiary of the Toyota Motor Corporation) began taking orders for its TM9 turf mats, modular grass tiles developed specifically for converting rooftops into fields of green.”
It’s a pre-packaged modular roof garden system that includes seeds and irrigation tubes. Currently only available in Japan at a cost of $43 USD per square foot (!), it’s a promising great start. The more modular and packaged these systems become, the easier it will be for businesses and consumers to adopt and install.
